Behavior Stabilization Services Overview
Our Behavior Stabilization Services strive to replace
maladaptive behaviors with alternative behaviors. Root causes
of maladaptive behaviors are the focus of our behavioral assessment. Our Interdisciplinary Behavioral Acquisition System (IBAS) integrates behavioral strategies with the patient's functional rehabilitation program. Appropriate behaviors are reinforced across all therapeutic disciplines and by all staff twenty-four hours a day.
Individualized Treatment
Upon admission, each patient receives a comprehensive assessment
identifying behavioral deficits and abilities. Specific therapeutic
goals and a treatment plan are developed to determine the sequence
for addressing those specified skills. The treatment team may
include professionals from the following disciplines:
-
Psychology/Neuropsychology
-
Physical Therapy
-
Case Management
-
Nursing
|
-
Behavior Analysis
-
Occupational Therapy
-
Speech-Language Pathology

Appropriate Referrals
Oklahoma NeuroSpecialty provides appropriate programmatic structure
enabling patients to progress through increasingly less structured
environments with the final goal of adapting to their projected
discharge setting. Individuals who are 16* and older may enter the
Behavioral Stabilization program at various levels of functioning
including:
» Individuals who are consistently disoriented, agitated or
aggressive. Programs are designed to provide a highly structured
and supervised, low-stimulus retraining environment.
» Individuals who are consistently uncooperative. Clients are
given increased responsibilities that encourage their independent
participation in therapy sessions and on-site community activities.
*Individuals under 18 are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
