Nominated by her supervisor, Juanita Mattingly, Meg displays a unique bond with the individuals she serves. Throughout her 14 years with the organization, Meg has been a talented and dedicated Life Skills Trainer who thrives on helping those we serve reach their goals. She truly shines when she is interacting with the individuals she supports.
“I could not be the supervisor I am without the dedication and support of Life Skills Trainers like Meg,” said Juanita Mattingly, Meg’s supervisor and nominator. “Meg is a wonderful example of how a Life Skills Trainer can make a positive impact on the lives of our participants. She is an asset to my team and to NeuroRestorative.”

Anne Marie Romelus
LPN, NeuroRestorative Avalon Park

As an LPN, Anne Marie Romelus provides support for some of the program’s most medically complex participants making sure their needs are met in a safe and stable environment. She is known for being a true team player. When a co-worker became unexpectedly ill and was forced to be out of work for more than a week, Anne Marie stepped in to make sure the participants were supported. She came in on her days off to make sure participants with feeding tubes were able to receive their meals and volunteered to take on extra shifts when coverage could not be found elsewhere.
“Anne Marie is dedicated to the care of our participants. When our program nurse was out unexpectedly, Anne Marie came in early and stayed late to ensure the participants’ care was uninterrupted. Her hard work and dedication helped ease a difficult situation,” said Shannon Fimple, Anne Marie’s co-worker at NeuroRestorative Avalon Park and nominator.

Jenny ‘Beth’ Johnson

Jenny ‘Beth’ Johnson is a true example of a NeuroRestorative Hero. She is a do it all kind of woman, constantly taking on new tasks and responsibilities. One minute you will find her speaking with a prospective participant’s family, the next she will be helping a participant clean their room and the next she will be overseeing Medicaid approvals for the program’s more than 50 participants. Despite all the tasks on her plate, she is always the first to find a resolution to any problem and a constant advocate for the individuals she supports. Beth’s dedication is admired by her co-workers and her support is felt by every individual she serves.
“Beth willingly goes above and beyond to help her co-workers and our participants achieve a positive outcome. She welcomes new challenges and is always willing to help out fellow co-workers,” said Carolyn Mancuso-Seagraff, Beth’s nominator and supervisor.

Barbra Wheeler

The staggering number of nominations Barbra Wheeler received speaks to her strong character and dedication to NeuroRestorative’s participants. With seven nominations coming from direct reports, supervisors and co-workers, it is clear that Barbra inspires everyone around her. Her unwavering commitment to the individuals NeuroRestorative serves is beyond compare. The compassion she shows participants’ families is unmatched. She is also a strong advocate for brain injury survivors. Recently she sent several appeals to an insurance company to ensure that one participant received more coverage. As a supervisor she encourages personal and professional greatness and growth, and shows those she works with what it means to truly love the work you do.
“I have never felt more strongly that someone is a ‘hero’. The NeuroRestorative Timber Ridge community needs Barbra and her work,” said Sara Tully, NeuroRestorative Timber Ridge Behavior Specialist and one of Barbra’s nominators. “As my supervisor she has taught me so much. I have grown as a therapist, leader and member of society because of her inspiration.”
