NeuroRestorative Carbondale Participant Featured on WSIL 3 News

Recently, NeuroRestorative Carbondale participant Michael Ritter’s inspirational story was featured on WSIL 3 News. A horrific car accident in December 2010 left former police officer Ritter, now 28-years-old, with what doctors described as a brain stem injury.  His family was told there was little hope for recovery, but after about a month he began to show signs of improvement. When he transitioned to NeuroRestorative Carbondale’s post-acute rehabilitation program he continued to make strides in his recovery. Today, he is an active participant in all his therapies, and the sense of humor his friends and family remember is back.

“He’s always been a strong person, and I knew he could do it, and yeah, he’s my hero,” said Michelle, Michael’s mother about his recovery.
