“I walk a lot,” said Barrett Dorn. “That to me is therapy.” The 34-year-old was in a car accident a few years ago that put him in a coma. He has traumatic brain injury. His recovery has been slow but steady. Dorn has been living at NeuroRestorative, a post-acute neural rehab center, for the past three years, where he has his own room lined with books, a keyboard, and other personal items.”
As an eligible Veteran who experienced a TBI, Barrett’s services are funded by the Veterans Health Administration Assisted Living Pilot program, which covers the cost of specialized private rehabilitation programs like NeuroRestorative.
