Medical Directors

Andrew Cole, M.D., M.S., FAAPMR, CPE Medical Director, Traverse City/East Bay Area

Dr. Cole is a physiatrist who specializes in neurorehabilitation and head injury. He has a diverse educational background, with a deep empathy for the patients he serves. He received his bachelor’s degrees in biology and religion from St. Olaf College in Minnesota and his master’s degree in exercise science from Ball State University in Indiana. He completed his medical internship in Kalamazoo, Michigan, a MSU branch location. Dr. Cole completed his medical degree and residency at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

Dr. Cole moved to Michigan in 2017 from Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Montana, where he served as Department Chair for Medicine and was Co-Medical Director of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the inpatient rehab unit. He has served as the Medical Director of Access for the inpatient rehabilitation unit at Mary Free Bed at Munson Medical Center and practices at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center. He is board certified by the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and has authored multiple scholarly publications and given national presentations. He enjoys running, mountain biking, skiing, and lake sports activities. Dr. Cole moved to Traverse City with his wife, two young boys, and three dogs for the abundant outdoor activities and their family ties.
