At NeuroRestorative, we understand that when a family member enlists in the United States Armed Services, the whole family enlists. Our experience serving Military Service Members, Veterans and their families through the rehabilitation process means we have a deep understanding of the culture and what it means to be a military family, allowing us to better assist you and your loved one.
Close to Home
With programs in 21 states, we offer options close to home so family members can participate in the rehabilitation process, visit their loved one and learn optimal strategies for helping maintain their goals when at home while participants can benefit from the support of family and friends throughout their time with us.
Part of the Team
Families are an integral part of the treatment team at NeuroRestorative and we encourage them to be active participants in their loved one’s rehabilitation process. We believe that open and consistent communication is critical to ensuring that participants achieve their rehabilitative goals. To help facilitate this, families and legal guardians are offered scheduled phone or email updates on their loved one’s progress, and are active members of the rehabilitation team. In accordance with the wishes of the participant, families are encouraged to visit their loved one regularly and are welcome to join in special activities such as holiday celebrations.
Families and guardians are also invited to participate in all formal conferences with the clinical team to review progress made, establish new goals, provide input, and plan for discharge.
We understand that traumatic brain injury impacts not only the participant, but the entire family as well. We offer counseling for families coping with the challenges associated with such injuries.
When a loved one is ready to transition home, we provide training for the family at our programs and in their home to make the transition as smooth and successful as possible and to ensure that the gains made in rehabilitation are maintained following discharge.
